Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift rollercoaster is officially open at Universal Studios.
It’s an outdoor rollercoaster that opened on September 16. This ride will have a massive line because of its title. The film franchise has a big fanbase, and it all began with the original film in 2001. Speed, velocity, and adrenaline get residents excited to try the experience.
Can we imagine what Walt Disney would have said about this? Would he have appreciated this new model and development? We will never know because he didn’t live to see this day come to fruition.
The Fast and the Furious ride features 360-degree spinning vehicles, reaching speeds of 72 mph. In terms of track length, it goes as high as 4,100 feet. The rollercoaster ride will run from 10 am to 10 pm. There will be heavy screaming for twelve consecutive hours. Everyone working the rollercoaster ride will need to make sure everyone is safe. During an intense rollercoaster ride, accidents can occur, and we have seen this in the past at other amusement parks.
It is amazing how a successful film franchise can lead to future rides in amusement parks. Fast and Furious joins other Universal films in the park, such as Jurassic Park/Jurassic World, Despicable Me/Minions, The Mummy, E.T. the Extra Terrestrial, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, Trolls, and The Wild Robot.
As usual, we are sure that there’s a group of people who are against the idea of having Fast and Furious as a rollercoaster ride. There will always be some praise and some scrutiny. Perhaps some of the people who don’t think it’s a brilliant idea are folks who aren’t fans of the film franchise or are sick and tired of it.
Regardless, the Fast and Furious rollercoaster is here and will be here to stay for a while. Customers will buckle up and feel what Vin Diesel and other actors feel while driving on set.
