Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman has been chosen to be this weekend’s College GameDay Guest Picker.
Freeman, 89, is a Mississippi Native and a fan of the Ole Miss Rebels. Freeman will be in the building as his team, Ole Miss, will take on the LSU Tigers in the biggest game of Week 3 in College Football.
Lane Kiffin will return to coach against his former team. There’s going to be raining boos for Kiffin, who was once beloved in the Rebels nation. Now, he’s on the other side. The breakup wasn’t pretty, especially since he took several players and coaches with him to join him at LSU. It’s going to be a hostile environment for everyone coming Saturday night.
Freeman is a decorated actor. His voice and on-screen performances made him a beloved and respected figure. He’s known for many great performances, including Lean on Me, The Shawshank Redemption, Seven, Unforgiven, and Million Dollar Baby. He’s also strong in other entertaining roles, such as Bruce Almighty, where he played God alongside Jim Carrey.
Although Freeman studied theater in Los Angeles before he became a famous actor, he began his acting chops in school plays in his hometown of Mississippi. In terms of his voice, Freeman is one of the best when it comes to narration. He’s narrated many documentaries, including The Story of God with Morgan Freeman, which ran from 2016 through 2019.
College GameDay has made it a habit to have celebrities on the show. The show runs from 10am through 12 pm and breaks down the matchups for every game of the weekend. In Week 2, actor Glen Powell was the celebrity guest pick for the Ohio State vs. Texas game in Austin, Texas.
Texas pulled off a 20-point comeback to beat the No. 1 team in the Buckeyes. The game between Ole Miss and LSU should be great and not lopsided.
Prediction: Ole Miss to beat LSU in Oxford
