Actor, singer, and founding member of New Kids on the Block, Donnie Wahlberg, shared on Instagram the scare he faced when a private jet nearly caused a disaster.
Wahlberg, 57, is grateful to the Lord that he and everyone else are safe. Wahlberg posted the video on social media on Oct. 18 – three days ago. Flying on a plane or personal jet is considered safe, but things can go wrong. Thankfully, nothing horrific occurred. The private plane was set to depart from Harry Reid International Airport.
“It was me and my team/friends onboard the aircraft,” Wahlberg said on his Instagram page. “It was a rather intense few moments (which felt like a few long minutes). Thankful to God, of course, and to our incredible pilots who did an amazing job of keeping us safe and avoiding a serious disaster. The airplane did take some lumps—but we did not. Thank you to all the emergency personnel on the ground in Las Vegas! You all were absolutely wonderful.”
Wahlberg has a famous sibling, Mark, who is also a deep believer in God. The Wahlberg siblings show how, as the years go by, they continue to succeed but understand it all comes from the Creator. In any profession, it’s important to put the Lord first. Without Him, we can’t do anything that we aspire to do.
On Sunday, God kept Wahlberg and everyone else on that jet alive for a reason. This moment changed Wahlberg, and it will be interesting to see how his thinking changes from here on out.
“We were taking off and didn’t get up in the air and ran out of runway, and the runway is way over there,” he explained in the video while pointing into the distance. “I’m just going to tell you these pilots saved our lives, and God covered us.”
Wahlberg is currently starring in the CBS detective drama series, Boston Blue, which is the spinoff of Blue Bloods, in which Wahlberg played for 14 seasons as New York Police Department detective Danny Reagan.
