Actor Stephanie Cole has passed away at age 84—a talented actress who made her mark in theatre and television.
According to her agent John Grant, Cole died from Alzheimer’s disease. Cole has been battling the disease for years. It’s very sad when someone suffers from this illness. Many people still have Alzheimer’s.
One actor in the early stages of Alzheimer’s is Danny Glover. When someone has this disease, having a supportive group of family members and friends is vital. A person with Alzheimer’s can’t fight alone. Cole certainly was not alone in the battle.
Stephanie played many characters throughout her career. One of the best moments of her career is when she played Dr Beatrice Mason in the 1980s BBC wartime TV drama Tenko. People will also remember her as Mrs Delphine Featherstone, also known as “The Black Widow.”
Her body of work earned her numerous accolades, including for best TV comedy actress. Cole did an amazing job as Diana Trent in the project Waiting for God.
Theatre takes years of training and preparation. She trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Her dedication, discipline, and education were on point. She made her stage debut at 17. What matters is that she was fearless and always focused on every character she portrayed.
Cole worked with incredible actors who are also great on stage and television, such as Maggie Smith and Julie Walters. Her theatre credits also feature memorable productions like Driving Miss Daisy, Noises Off, and King Lear.
Cole has graced the stage for five decades. It’s not easy to stay consistent for as long as she did. Theatre actors can look to Cole as a great example if they want to perform on stage for many decades.
The last TV show she appeared in as a main character was the British television series Scarborough. It’s a sitcom that lasted one season and six episodes, created and written by Derren Litten. Cole portrayed Marion Norris.
