The troubles of Kanye West continue to pile up. Wireless Festival canceled its event after West was blocked from entering the UK.
West received this treatment because of his ongoing antisemitic remarks. We have seen time and time again, West making headlines for the wrong reasons. There’s enough antisemitic behavior going on in the world. It’s not the first time that West has said something that’s not pleasant to the Jewish community.
Actor and Director David Schwimmer, best known for his iconic role as Ross on Friends, caught many by surprise when he chimed in on the situation. The 59-year-old criticized the rapper and businessman over the antisemitic remarks. He doesn’t believe Kanye’s apologies because he keeps doing the opposite.
Schwimmer is thankful that major companies such as Pepsi, PayPal, and Diego have stopped supporting the festival. The event was going to take place for three days in London. West was going to be the headliner. Schwimmer couldn’t help but feel grateful to see that some companies still have a strong sense of value and integrity and do the right thing.
Another actor and director who commented on Kanye’s post about the Jewish people is Jonah Hill.
“I felt that he did this bizarre public thing to kind of make up, like, ‘It’s all good cause I love Jonah,’” Hill said. “It just sat with me in a way that it’s, like, all good. I love him still, and I hope whatever happens, he can heal or whatever, and everyone can heal from all that stuff.”
Hill was referring to West saying that seeing Jonah’s performance in “21 Jump Street,” which was released in 2012, made West “like Jewish people again.”
Hill is a fan of West’s work in the music industry and still believes that West is “probably the greatest artist ever to live.”
