The Sedin Twins (Daniel and Henrik) embodied everything the Vancouver Canucks stand for.
These two players admired and respected the organization. The Sedin twins accomplished so much as hockey players. Fans will always cherish what they brought to the city. Championship or not, the Sedin twins loved the organization and never threw in the towel, no matter the outcome.
The brothers played for 17 seasons with the Canucks. Canucks reached the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. Although they lost to the Boston Bruins, they were an integral part of why that team gave fans so many lasting memories. Individually, the brothers won scoring titles. They remain the only twins to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
As good as they were on the ice, they were even better off the ice. The Sedin twins gave back to the community and were always involved in strengthening the city. The brothers are great humanitarian people. The parents did a great job raising these men. Their wisdom and intelligence helped them achieve so much success in life.
“I think it’s the fans,” the Sedin twins said. “The memories of playing in the playoffs. Some of the home games we played were on home ice, where you play for the crest, and with people watching. That’s the special part of being a Canuck: what we do in the community.”
What are they up to nowadays? The brothers remain loyal to the only team they know. The twin brothers serve as co-presidents of the franchise.
The twins understand and value team chemistry. They know it takes time to build trust with your linemates. As leaders of the organization, they can connect with current players, and players will listen more easily to people who have played hockey.
Sedin twins are on a mission to bring a championship to Vancouver. The Canucks missed the playoffs last season, finishing 25-49. It’s a new season. The Canucks will write a new script.
